RIP Ernest Borgnine
This generation only knows Ernest Borgnine as the voice of Spongebobs’ Mermaid Man. But Ernest Borgnine had a fascinating acting career spanning 60 years.

Waat a character.!! R.I.P Mermaidman:)
The world has lost an awesome actor. One of my favorites. He will be missed. Rest in peace
although the new sponge bob isnt as as great as it used to be he was still there as mermaid man back wen i was a kid in the classical sponge bobs the best sponge bobs i have stopped watching sponge bob sense it isnt as it used to be :)
i dont like the new sponge bob they eem horrible to me the voices dont sound the same, there are ugly faces back in the old sponge bob there were just cute faves but look at the sponge bob today there are ugly faces new faces the characters also seem verry different :) i miss the old sponge bobs
I had the great pleasure of working with Ernie (as he prefered to be called) on Spongebob Squarepants. Each time the wonderful writers at Nickelodeon would come up with a script for Mermaidman and Barnacle Boy, I knew that I was in for a real treat, getting to voice their arch enemy Man Ray.
Ernie was very generous with his stories and great good humor. And the love he had and showed for Tim Conway, his good friend of some 50 years, was always evident at our Spongebob recording sessions. He will be dearly missed. But, I know that Ernie is out there, somewhere fighting EEEEEE-VIL!!!
I will always cherish our chats before the recording sessions. You had the BEST stories and could always make me laugh. Thank you for your friendship… Rest In Peace, Ernie.
