Nobel Prize in Physics Cartoon Sheldon
In today’s cartoon, fictional character Sheldon Cooper from TV’s BIG BANG THEORY makes a surprise appearance onstage during the acceptance speech for Nobel Prize in Physics.
Haroche and Wineland discovered how wo measure the movement of quantum particles without imparting any change upon them, which was previously unheard of. Previously, in order to measure objects at a quantum level, high powered microscopes used had to impart energy of some kind in order to measure the result, thus changing the result.
