FRANCE DECLARES MARTIAL LAW WAR AGAINST SENIOR CITIZENS!
That’s what the headlines may read in the very near future. Pension reforms in France are driving protestors over the edge of sanity. In an effort to reduce mountains of national debt and deficits, the French government is proposing changes to how the French retirement age works.
Over 3.5 MILLION people turned out to protest the proposed changes. Two years. All this protesting over an increase of retirement benefits age by 2 YEARS. Protesting resulted in a strike of over a million workers, crippling the country. Gas stations are running out of gas or are closed temporarily (nearly 1 in 3). The French Government has been forces to dip into an emergency reserve of petrol.
News reports widespread riots, looting,clashes with police and skirmishes. France may soon be in a state of revolution if things aren’t resolved soon.
The first thing that popped into my head ( as most of my cartoons are) was senior citizens fighting S.W.A.T. teams. But in reality, it’s a slightly younger demographic, fighting to protect their retirement years and funds.
